South Whidbey softball goes 1-2 at state tourney

South Whidbey softball finished 1-2 in the class 1A state championships on May 26-27 at Columbia Playfield in Richland.

The Falcons lost to the eventual runner-up, La Center, 2-0 in the first round. They rebounded with a 5-3 win over Chimacum in the consolation bracket, but fell to Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls) 4-0 to conclude the season.

South Whidbey finished 13-13 overall.
