South Whidbey U-15 girls team wins spring tournament

The South Whidbey U-15 girls soccer team won the Whidbey Island Youth Soccer Association spring tournament for the fourth consecutive year.

The South Whidbey U-15 girls soccer team won the Whidbey Island Youth Soccer Association spring tournament for the fourth consecutive year.

The team won three games and tied a fourth to win the first-place trophy on Saturday at Fort Nugent Park in Oak Harbor.

In the first game, Rachael Arand scored two goals in the first victory against Oak Harbor 2-1.

Arand and Jamie Rodden both scored to finish 2-0 against their South Whidbey rivals, in the second game.

In the third contest, Audrey Neubauer and Rodden scored to defeat Coupeville 2-1. Finally, Neubauer scored to tie a different Oak Harbor team 1-1 in the final game.

Other team members are Samantha Baldwin, Alayna Benney, Olivia Bolding, Meaghan De Wolf, Isle Dubendorf, Olivia Dunkley, Charlotte Gallelli, Emma Lungren, Iona Rohan, Grace Stringer, Vada Thomas, coaches Dave De Wolf and Paul Arand.
