Sheriff looking at recent thefts

The Island County Sheriff’s Office is investigating recent break-ins and thefts in Freeland.

One was reported Wednesday, Nov. 30 after a resident returned to their home near Highway 525 and noticed items missing. Chief Administrative Deputy Wylie Farr said the Freeland residence was left unlocked.

Another break-in was reported on Beachwood Drive by a woman who said a laptop computer and a ring were missing, among other items. The burglary apparently occurred sometime before 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4.

Vehicle prowls were also reported overnight on Lenz Place on Thursday, Dec. 1, as well as daytime car prowls on Freeland Avenue on Saturday, Dec. 3, and Monday, Dec. 5 near Lone Lake Road.
