Home sales on South Whidbey and part of Central Whidbey were down a bit the first quarter of 2013 compared to 2012, but prices increased.
In the first quarter of 2012, 59 homes were sold from the Clinton ferry dock to Libbey Road north of Coupeville. In 2013, that number dipped to 56.
Prices rose, however. Of the 35 homes sold in the price range up to $299,000 the median sale price was $195,000, up 14.7 percent from the prior year. In the next pricing level, $300,000 to $499,999, the increase in median price was 8.3 percent.
The local sales information was broken down by Linda Beeman, Whidbey Real Estate / South Whidbey, from the quarterly report from the Northwest Multiple Listing Service.
