Fair seeks parade entries

Check out the featured animals and classic cars at the Whidbey Island Fair Parade.

The 1.5-mile parade begins 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17 along the water in Langley and ends past the Eva Mae Gabelein Midway State.

Winners will be announced on the stage at noon. Bob and Connie Alexander will lead the parade as this year’s grand marshals, their family has participated in the fair for four generations. Parade entries will be judged on how well they use the theme of this year’s fair, Blossom to Awesome. Enter by Aug. 9, divisions include marching unit with animal, antique and classic cars, family unit, ugly truck and commercial float.
