Burn in Bayview prompts Island County fire ban reminder

An unauthorized trash and vegetation burn in Bayview over the weekend had South Whidbey Fire/EMS seeing double.

The burn Saturday drew district firefighters out to the residence earlier in the day. Island County has a countywide burn ban implemented by Sheriff Mark Brown, also the county’s fire marshal.

When it was not properly extinguished, the fire protection district had to return and snuff it out.
