The Island County Area Fairgrounds will receive $29,338 worth of electrical repairs in the coming weeks.
Commissioners approved the contract with Clinton-based electrical contractor Jerry Beck and Company Inc. at their regular Monday meeting.
Facilities Director Larry Van Horn said that serious code violations were discovered by state inspectors before the August county fair but a plan was not implemented until last week.
Van Horn asked the commissioners for permission to use facilities real estate excise tax funds to make the repairs that need to be finished right away.
