SHERIFF’S REPORT | Pasture vandalist, suspected hand grenade and barking neighbor

The following are 911 reports from the Island County Sheriff’s Office, South Precinct.

Saturday, Aug. 8

7:57 a.m. — A caller on Van Dee Avenue in Greenbank said they were bitten by a dog.

9:21 a.m. — A caller on Owl Lane in Clinton advised someone keeps going into her pasture and unraveling her hose and rearranging her flower pots.

4:42 p.m. — A caller at a Highway 525 park and ride reported subjects looking in the pay box.

9:25 p.m. — A caller on Craw Road in Langley was cleaning out his garage and he found a tube that says “hand grenade inside.”

 

Monday, Aug. 10

8:20 a.m. — A caller on Millman Road in Langley reported an injured eagle hopping around the caller’s property.

10:22 a.m. — A caller on Springwater Lane in Clinton believes he may have info on a vehicle that may have been involved in a shooting near Cultus Bay Road.

11:29 a.m. — A caller on Possession Beach Walk reported a stolen golf cart.

 

Tuesday, Aug.  11

4:42 p.m. — A caller at the Clinton Ferry Terminal said a white Ford Taurus that just got on the ferry almost hit the caller a couple of times; the female driver was honking and screaming at the caller, and a child in the back seat was screaming as well.

 

Wednesday, Aug. 12

12:44 p.m. — A caller on Scenic Avenue in Freeland said an upstairs neighbor is yelling and barking in his apartment.

9:21 a.m. — A caller on Grimm Road reported a shed at Good Cheer was broken into and a weed eater stolen.

1:26 p.m. — A caller on Bercot Road in Freeland said a friend posted suicidal comments on Facebook, threatening to “kill everyone” and herself.

7:22 p.m — A caller on Hickory Way in Freeland was bitten by his own dog. He suffered a superficial laceration.

9:49 p.m. — A caller on Maxwelton Road said people at a park are lighting “wishing bags” and letting them go.

 

Friday, Aug.  14

6:26 p.m. — A caller on Saratoga Road reported a kayak flipped over 100 yards off shore. Two people are in the water.

 

Saturday, August 15

2:19 p.m. — A caller on Maxwelton Road said a large, black and aggressive dog is approaching people on a South Whidbey Parks and Recreation District trail system.

 

Sunday, August 16

11:09 a.m. — A caller on Ravenridge Drive reported an otter stuck in “a line” near a buoy.

2:07 p.m. — A caller on Moonlight Drive in Freeland said his nextdoor neighbor threatened to shoot him, and his cat.

 

Monday, August 17

11:37 a.m. — A caller on Maxwelton Road called about all the burglaries on South Whidbey and what a persons rights are

if someone breaks into their home.

 

Tuesday August 18

1:05 p.m. — A caller on Langley Road reported three horses running loose near the storage units.

 

Thursday, August 20

1:15 a.m. — A caller on East Harbor Road advised her neighbor had tree cutters come onto property and cut

them up for her; the wood was stolen later that night.

9:54 p.m. — A caller in the Useless Bay area said was attacked “possibly raped, unsure.” A male came to the door and couldn’t speak English. The caller opened the door and the male grabbed her and pulled her into house.
