The South Whidbey tennis team beat visiting Bear Creek 4-1 Thursday, Oct. 11.

Winners were Levi Buck (7-5, 7-6[4]), Ian Maddox (6-3, 6-1), Ranger Buck/Cormac Workman (6-0, 6-3) and Soren Bratrude/Max Rodriguez (6-2, 6-0).

“An improved score from last time (3-2),” coach Karyle Kramer said. “Very solid performances from everyone.”

Ranger Buck and Workman’s effort in doubles was “probably (their) best play of the year against a good team,” Kramer said. “Max and and Soren were solid as well. Levi continues to battle and perform well.”

The match was the Falcons’ third this week, Kramer noted. The “players are tired (but will) rest this weekend.”

The match was also Senior Night, honoring Brent de Wolf, Workman, Cameron Jensen and Quentin Thompson.

The Falcons (5-7) complete the regular season with a trip to University Prep (7-3) Monday, Oct. 15.
