For a city known for its parades, not much jollification has happened in Langley since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

This past Thursday, however, the South Whidbey High School graduating class of 2021 cruised First and Second streets during a car parade to commemorate their graduation.

Family members and friends stood on street corners and were rewarded with handfuls of candy and confetti from the parade’s participants.

The 113 grads — 94 from the high school and 19 from South Whidbey Academy, the school district’s alternative high school — will be taking the stage Saturday, June 12.
