Weekend veterans event postponed

The Whidbey Veteran’s Resource Center has decided to postpone its Veterans Day event, “Honoring Those Who Served.”

The music and food event was scheduled for 2 p.m. on Nov. 14 at the Whidbey Island Center for the Arts. Because of safety concerns surrounding COVID-19 and restrictions on public gatherings, the organization will wait until spring 2022 to hold the event.

“We’re looking forward to holding the event to support the local veteran community next year,” said resource center board member Clyde Shavers.
