Five passengers of a sinking pleasure craft near Clinton were rescued Monday evening by the crew aboard the Tokitae ferry.
Around 6:15 p.m. that night, crew members from the ferry worked quickly to launch a rescue boat when they heard about a nearby small vessel taking on water, according to Ian Sterling, a Washington State Ferries spokesperson.
No one was injured and the involved passengers were able to climb aboard the ferry’s rescue boat.
The boat was towed to shore, and the boaters were able to fix the issue they were having with it. The vessel was reported to be back on the water, crabbing, within an hour of the incident.
There were slight delays to ferry service on the Clinton-Mukilteo route during the rescue.
