In the past several months, Friends of Friends Medical Support Fund has benefited from the generosity of a very caring community. We would like to recognize and publicly thank our most recent donors.

Vern Olsen and his gang of Shifty Sailors divided the proceeds from their hugely successful Shanty Fest among the three Whidbey Island medical support funds: Friends of Friends (South Whidbey), Small Miracles (Coupeville) and the new Medical Safety Net of North Whidbey (Oak Harbor). The Sailors not only provided an entertaining weekend of music and workshops, but also bolstered the budget of three organizations that provide financial assistance to those in need on Whidbey Island.

Friends of Friends was also one of 10 recipients of the Soroptimists’ generous giving. Their exemplary mission to improve the lives of women and children was met directly and locally with their donations to South Whidbey nonprofits. These awards will resonate throughout the community, from the Daisy Girl Scout Troop to the Good Cheer Food Bank.

The Whidbey General Hospital Foundation has provided grant opportunities to FOF for many years. Again this year, they have validated our efforts with a generous grant award.

Their contribution to our budget is significant, and we are grateful for their continued support. The South Whidbey Rotary also fulfilled our grant request recently, as they have done many times in the past. We appreciate their good will to our organization and the community at large.

Finally, we would like to acknowledge the generosity of all our individual donors. These donations are vital to our success. They keep us going, and leave us extremely grateful.

Friends of Friends is available to any South Whidbey resident in need of financial assistance for their medically related expenses, thanks to the giving spirit of our entire community. Thank you so much.
