Washington State Ferries is advising travelers to plan for heavy traffic on ferry routes through the Thanksgiving weekend.

Some routes will be using a revised travel schedule, so ferry riders should check ahead for times before heading to the terminal.

The longest lines are are expected on westbound sailings on the afternoon and evening of Wednesday, Nov. 23, and eastbound sailings Friday morning, Nov. 25.

The Clinton-Mukilteo route will be on a holiday schedule Thursday, Nov. 24.

The Point Defiance-Tahlequah and Seattle-Bainbridge Island routes will also be on a holiday schedule; all other routes will be on the regular weekday schedule.

WSF officials also said the schedule will be changed at the Coupeville (Keystone)-Port Townsend for low tides, and additional sailings have been scheduled to make up for cancelled trips.
