Artists of South Whidbey will start their fall season with a meeting next week.

It begins at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Trinity Lutheran Community Building, 18341 Highway 525 in Freeland.

Guest artist Kay Parsons will be the demonstrator. A watercolor painter, Parsons’ colorful perennial garden is a primary source of her inspiration. Her work is often large, such as 4 feet by 6 feet, and features scenes from her garden. The demonstration will focus on Parson’s watercolor techniques.

Artists of South Whidbey meetings are open to the public. They begin with a sack lunch, with the meeting starting at noon. Participants are requested to bring artwork to share or for gentle critique.
