Island County road development hearing planned

The Island County Board of Commissioners will be taking public comment on revisions to the county’s general design and construction standards at 10:15 a.m. Monday, March 17, in the Commissioners Hearing Room.

The purpose of the changes is to incorporate language specific to Department of Transportation Local Agency Guidelines and the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials. Periodically, the Island County Code needs to be revised to meet changing safety needs and requirements related to the development of public and private roads, according to the ordinance.
