It’s shaping up to be a November race between incumbent Fire District 3 Commissioner Mike Helland and former fire commissioner Gary Gabelein for Position 3.

Helland was leading with a commanding 45.9 percent of the vote in the initial vote tally on Primary night.

Gabelein, a former three-term commissioner, had 31 percent of the vote.

Don Carscadden was third in the four-way race with 11 percent, with Frank Mestemacher close behind at 10.9 percent.
