To the editor:

Mary Wilson Engle is running for assessor because she wants this office to be the best at what they do.

Mary is gifted in her ability to train by understanding each person’s abilities. Those in the office who want to strive for excellence will have an outstanding teacher in Mary. Imagine this: your phone calls will be answered or returned quickly; if you disagree with your value and appeal, you will be greeted with respect and allowed to voice your concerns to someone who listens.

I worked in the assessor’s office for seven years, and Mary and I have continued our friendship since I left at the end of 2007. Mary’s values, professionalism and work ethic have never given in to an attitude of “this is OK.” Mary always strives to be the best and has the character and strength to get everyone in the office going the same way – to excellence!
