Island County Fire District 3 commissioners will carry on in their current roles in 2010.

At its meeting Jan. 14, the three-member board voted to keep the status quo: Kenon Simmons will continue as chairman, Mike Helland as vice chairman and Bob Elliot as ICOM and Board of Volunteer Fire Fighters representative.

The board also officially welcomed new fire chief H.L. “Rusty” Palmer.
