The Board of Island County Commissioners last week honored Coupeville mayor Nancy Conard for four terms of service, officially recognizing her “and her outstanding service to the Central Whidbey community.”

Conard chaired the Island County Council of Governments for 10 years, served on the Association of Washington Cities and “annually entertained thousands of children while leading the Greening of Coupeville parade as Frosty the Snowman,” the commissioners said in a proclamation.
