Rain totals top 2 inches so far this year on Whidbey

Total rainfall for 2010 has topped two inches in nearly every reporting station for the WSU Island County Extension.

Even so, this year has been a little bit drier than last year, according to a comparison of rainfall figures from extension weather watchers.

So far this year, Greenbank has reported the most rainfall: 2.37 inches. Elsewhere, it was 2.25 inches of rain at West Beach; 2.10 at Fawn Run in Coupeville; 2.09 at Crockett Lake and Naval Air Station Whidbey Island; 2.05 at Fort Casey; and 1.02 at Polnell Point.

A high temperature of 61 degrees was reported at Polnell Point; the low temp of 34 was at NAS Whidbey.
