Future projects, such as an aquatics facility and a golf course, will be the main topics of discussion at the South Whidbey Parks and Recreation District meeting next week.

The parks commissioners will convene for a business meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18 that will look at the district’s comprehensive plan programs, along with scheduling a workshop with park staff and the South Whidbey Parks and Aquatics Foundation.

Commissioners will also hear from the golf committee, which was assembled to look at the viability of running the Holmes Harbor Golf Course.

Parks Director Doug Coutts will update the commissioners on the district’s agreement with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife on maintenance at Goss and Lone lakes.

The district’s meeting will be at its headquarters at 5475 Maxwelton Road, Langley.
