Whidbey Community Chorus gets set for new season

The Whidbey Community Chorus will hold its first practice this month as it gets ready for this year’s Christmas concerts.

The Whidbey Community Chorus will hold its first practice this month as it gets ready for this year’s Christmas concerts.

Registration for the first practice will be held at 5:30 p.m.  Sunday, Sept. 18 at the First United Methodist Church, 1050 SE Ireland St., Oak Harbor.

Weekly practices are planned for Sunday evenings at the church, and the annual concerts are scheduled for Friday, Dec. 2 and Sunday, Dec. 4.

The chorus is starting its 10th year under the direction of Chet Hansen.

This year’s program for the Christmas concerts will feature a variety of religious and secular music.

The season dues are adults $30 for adults, $15 for high school and college students $15, payable at registration. Women are required to purchase a chorus blouse for $37 or $42 depending on size; financial aid is available for this purchase.
