DjangoFest was a blast | LETTER TO THE EDITOR

To the editor:

Thank you Langley!

What a treat to see the town all dressed up for our DjangoFest Northwest visitors. There was quite a buzz about the activities around town — the attendees were excited about the djamming, intrigued by the mustaches and appreciative of the warm welcome from the merchants. Word has it that this was the best DjangoFest ever, and we thank you for helping make it so.

Many, many thanks to all who volunteered, attended, sponsored and supported the festival in a myriad of ways.

Special thanks to the restaurants and individuals who helped feed our artists: Carolyn Haroldson, The Edgecliff, Fine Gelfand, Gordon’s on Blueberry Hill, Maurlee’s Take Out and Catering, Mukilteo Coffee Company, Neil’s Clover Patch, Prima Bistro, Ray’s Boathouse, Star Store Deli, Useless Bay Coffee Company and Village Pizzeria.

This festival would not be possible without the generosity of those who opened their doors to house the artists: Doug and Jan Allderdice, Brian and Emmy Atwood, Drew Bamber, Deb Caswell and Tim Goeken, Satyavati D’Antoni, Simon Frazer and Sharen Heath, Brent and Patricia Friedman, Diane Kendy, Larry Kwarsick and Carol McNeil, Lindsay Communications, Shirley McClure, TL and Sue Moore, Miles and Rene Neff, Northwest Language Academy, Cathy Robinson, Des and Tracy Rock, Vickie Robin and WhidbeyGetaways.com. Thank you, Sound Publishing, for the fantastic coverage.

Last but not least, we hope the Edgecliff crew recuperates soon from the long and late hours — it sure was fun.

We’d love to hear your thoughts on the festival — send a note to stacie.burgua@wicaonline.com. DjangoFest Northwest 2011 is Sept. 21- 25.
