Transcendantalism and Emerson’s aunt | RELIGION NOTES

The transcendentalist movement, whose chief spokesperson was Ralph Waldo Emerson, had a significant impact on Unitarianism and American philosophy.   That renowned speaker, minister and writer was deeply influenced by a less known woman — his aunt, Mary Moody Emerson.

Dennis Reynolds will explore the roots of transcendentalism, a process that can help deepen the exploration of the nature of divinity and the divinity of nature. Child care is available, but there will be no religious exploration classes in August.
