Bonnie Jean Morgan passed away Jan. 7, 2008.
The most wonderful mom, wife, daughter, aunt, sister, mother-in-law and friend, Bonnie was born April 21, 1950 and raised with two sisters and one brother in the Seattle area.
She met her husband, Mike in high school. Shortly after their amazing year-long adventurous honeymoon in Mexico, they moved to Whidbey Island to start a business and a family.
Along with raising her much loved children, Ben and Olivia, she worked many jobs that led her to becoming a beloved paraeducator in the South Whidbey schools. She specialized in special education and behavior programs because those kids touched her heart so intensely.
She had an endless supply of love and understanding for all living things. Her father and stepmother inspired in her a love for nature and the garden which shines in all the growing things around her beautiful home. When she wasn’t touching lives she could be found touching the earth.
She is survived by a sister and brother; her devoted husband Mike; two children Ben (Erin) and Olivia (Garth); and her most cherished accomplishments, her grandchildren Brent and Morgan. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, sister Georganne, and stepmother/best friend Barbara.
Bonnie will be deeply missed but we are sure she will be in our hearts until we meet her again. As it was put so beautifully by her 3-year-old granddaughter Morgan, “She is our princess angel with wings.”
Bonnie’s love for the environment and her desire for her children’s and children’s children to experience it as we do, leads us to ask you to not send flowers, but to plant a tree in her memory instead.
There will be a celebration of Bonnie’s life at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeland with a reception to follow.
