Letter: Our DNA coding causes us to be alarmed when we see strangers

Editor,
I’m getting tired of hearing about “systemic” racism.
The fact is, there has always been racism in the world over since man walked upright, and from every race or ethnicity.
The media, and some Marxist protest groups, tell you it is systemic and everyone swallows it like fish jumping for bait, or to give meaning to their existence.
And I’ll give you a reference.
Hunter-gatherers formed groups and were within their group similar in appearances, manner, dress and language.
Many groups waged war on dissimilar groups because they were different, even making slaves out of the prisoners.
The ingrained DNA coded into our systems gives us alarms when we see strangers on our street, unknown people walking who are not from our block.
So let’s acknowledge we are all human, and try to treat each other with respect.
And don’t fall for the slogans and hype in the media and on street corners.
Be your own person and stand up for what you believe in, not someone who tells you what it should be or tries to make you feel guilty just over the color of your skin.
