Island County Historical Museum is selling official “The Wet Whisker” coffee mugs along with a special “Front Street Roast” coffee.

The Wet Whisker, started in Coupeville in 1969, later became known as Seattle’s Best Coffee.

Proceeds from sales benefit the museum as well as the Vashon Island Coffee Foundation, which was founded by The Wet Whisker Founder Jim Stewart, to assist fair trade coffee growers in Central America.

One side of the mug features The Wet Whisker logo and the other side says “Coupeville, Washington — Birthplace of NW Specialty Coffee.”

The coffee is from Vashon Island Coffee Roasterie, the company Jim Stewart and Seattle’s Best Coffee helped establish after Seattle’s Best was sold to Starbucks.

The Front Street Roast was specially created to go along with the new mug.

The mug and coffee are available at the museum for $12.99.
