How many protesters were bused in from Seattle?

Editor,

I would like your paper to make an important correction. When writing your large front page photo and article about the Black Lives Matter protesters in Oak Harbor, you neglected to mention how many of them were bused into our city from Seattle.

Few were residents from our area. This information was obtained from the Mayor’s office before the demonstration even occurred.

I would like to know why this was not mentioned in your article. I would think it’s of some importance. Don’t you know that omission is a form of lying?

I would only think it proper if a correction is made in your next issue if you have any desire to be fair and balanced. We know such a correction would not appear in the Seattle Times or New York Times but I hope better of you.

Editor’s note: An organizer for the protest said absolutely nobody was bused to the Oak Harbor event and the idea is “ridiculous.” A reporter who was at the rally said there were no buses and everyone he spoke to was from North Whidbey.
