To the editor: 

Of the 14 years I have dedicated to serving Island County, the past two have been in the Island County Coroner’s Office. It was during these past two years I have had the honor and privilege of working with Dr. Robert Bishop, Island County’s current coroner.

Dr. Bishop is amazingly brilliant at what he does, especially when it comes to death investigation. I’m amazed daily with his knowledge and competency in the role of coroner.

Dr. Bishop is the human encyclopedia of death investigation.

Not only is Dr. Bishop very skilled in scene investigations and determining the cause and manner of death, but he is also very compassionate when dealing with families during the most emotionally challenging times in their lives. I have seen first-hand how hard-working this man is.

In all of the 14 years that I’ve worked for the county, I have never met anyone who works harder than Dr. Bishop. He responds to cases not only during the day, but at night, on weekends and holidays. 

Dr. Bishop takes his duties as coroner very seriously, thoroughly, efficiently, decisively, professionally and frugally (he cares about saving taxpayer money). Dr. Bishop is the only candidate with the full range of experience necessary to perform the duties of coroner.

Dr. Bishop’s knowledge, experience and financial prudence have been and will continue to be an asset to our county.
