Many of us frequently receive telemarketer and robocalls from money solicitors with names like “Firefighters Alliance.”

It is my understanding that none of the money contributed goes to firefighting organizations in Island County, and the bulk of the money goes to the money solicitors. My personal recommendation: Don’t get suckered.

Give your money to a legitimate local charity. If you want to specifically contribute to firefighters, call your local fire and rescue service and ask how you can help.
