LETTER TO THE EDITOR | A letter of gratitude

Editor, Every year, about this time, I am thankful for a group of people I feel are probably under-appreciated and think, “I should send a letter to the editor.” Then Thanksgiving, Christmas and, before you know it, New Year’s have come and gone.

Editor,

Every year, about this time, I am thankful for a group of people I feel are probably under-appreciated and think, “I should send a letter to the editor.” Then Thanksgiving, Christmas and, before you know it, New Year’s have come and gone.

So now I want to express my deep appreciation for those hardy individuals who paint the lines on our highways and keep them in such good repair. It seems like such a thankless job and I wanted to let you know that I appreciate you and your hard work.

As well my hat’s off to the ferry men and women who keep us connected to the mainland. Sure who likes ferry waits and traffic delays? But I get to drive at night in safety thanks to those freshly painted lines and journey to the mainland in relative ease thanks to these unsung heroes. Bravo and happy Holidays — in advance — to all of you.

Sincerely,

BRENDA EDWARDS
