LETTER TO THE EDITOR | Appreciation for helping South Whidbey homeless

Editor, The South Whidbey Homeless Coalition would like to thank all the wonderful friends who attended the dedication and celebration of the House of Hope in Langley. Our awesome “Parking Guy,” Charlie Davies, counted the number of those who stopped by at 175. We also wish to thank the dedicated and hardworking volunteers who are upgrading the home and making it ready for occupancy for families with children and vulnerable adults in our community this spring.

Editor,

The South Whidbey Homeless Coalition would like to thank all the wonderful friends who attended the dedication and celebration of the House of Hope in Langley. Our awesome “Parking Guy,” Charlie Davies, counted the number of those who stopped by at 175. We also wish to thank the dedicated and hardworking volunteers who are upgrading the home and making it ready for occupancy for families with children and vulnerable adults in our community this spring.

This wonderful day, April 18, brought together an amazing array of talent, heart and love that will allow our house of hospitality to provide support and services to those in need. We are so proud to be a part of such a community that cares for all.

Blessings and thanks to Musicians Steve and JoAnne, Gloria Ferry-Brennan, and Beverly Graham for providing the most beautiful and heartfelt ambiance to this day. Thanks to Pastor Nigel from the Episcopal Church in Freeland who gave a moving prayer and tribute to Judy Yeakel, who bought this home 25 plus years ago to serve those in need. It was a highlight of the day having Judy’s four children come for the dedication, to see the new facelift and receive their blessings on our work in this home.

We love you South Whidbey and beyond. Thanks for caring.

JUDY THORSLUND
