LETTER TO THE EDITOR | Bring back voters’ pamphlets

Editor, I have a ballot. I have a pen to mark my ballot. I have a stamp to mail my ballot. I have a voters’ pamphlet for issues and candidates of state-wide significance. Yet, I have no voters’ pamphlet for issues and candidates of county significance. Voters’ pamphlets enable me to read about both sides of an issue, as well as prepared statements from opposing candidates.

Editor,

I have a ballot.

Several years ago, county commissioners cut funding for the publication of our county’s voter pamphlet. Who would imagine that we could lose this most basic piece of a functioning democratic society.

Now I ask these commissioners, has this fundamental resource forever slipped through the cracks?
