LETTER TO THE EDITOR | Bunko was a success

To the editor:

The South Whidbey Chapter of the Providence General Children’s Association Guild held their sixth annual Bunko/Silent Auction “Girls Night Out” fundraiser on Saturday, March 21. This year’s event turned out to be the biggest and best yet, raising more than $4,600.

The “Girls Night Out” fundraiser would not have been so successful without the generosity of our community. We would like to thank the following businesses and individuals for their donations: LaChaussee Glass, Studio A, Paramount Theatre, Fifth Avenue Theatre, ACT Theatre, Caseys Crafts, Linds, Mary Lint, Color Box, AT&T, Island Athletic Club, Tacoma Rainiers, Four Paws, Boatyard Inn, Useless Bay Coffee House, Mukilteo Coffee House, Bob Slate, Island Dance, Whidbey Dance Theatre, Professional Glass, Freeland Shell, Whidbey Island Winery, Frontier Industries, Park Avenue Salon, Whidbey Tire and Auto, A Special Touch Dog Groomer, Colette and Bob Riggs, Britt and Linda Fletcher, Toni Hagglund, Paul Samuelson and Darlene Baldwin.

We would also like to thank the Holmes Harbor Rod & Gun Club, the South Whidbey Record and Dalton Realty for their help with advertising and the rod-and-gun club again for donating the use of their club, the extra food and the overall support we receive from them each year. They always go above and beyond the call of duty to make sure things go smoothly.

We would especially like to thank the 110 women who joined us for such a great evening.

The event was full of fun and helped a great cause. You all contributed and we can’t thank you enough, especially in times like these.

We sold out quick this year, so be sure to get your tickets early when we do this again in 2010!

And remember, what happens at Bunko, stays at Bunko!
