LETTER TO THE EDITOR | Emerson deserves mayoral vote

Editor, I’m supporting Sharon Emerson for mayor of Langley, and I think she has a very good chance of winning. Engaging initially this year as an “activist” opposing the now-discredited funicular plan, she’s stepped up as a leader by proposing a community emergency plan in the event of a disaster; supports recreational upgrades like pedestrian and bicycle pathways; wants to try for an off-leash dog area; promotes detailed budget and utility bill analysis (water, sewer, drainage); and supports creative ways to enhance the marina/downtown connection.

Editor,

I’m supporting Sharon Emerson for mayor of Langley, and I think she has a very good chance of winning.

Sharon shows an ability to listen to new ideas, adjust when appropriate, and remain positive during the campaign. I haven’t heard or read a negative word about the other candidate.

As a 35-year contributor to the quality of South Whidbey life, she deserves our votes for mayor. Thanks for reading. Go Sharon!
