LETTER TO THE EDITOR | Feltons need no lesson in service

Editor, I feel sorry for the people in the Bayview area who will see their local Star Store close.

Editor,

I feel sorry for the people in the Bayview area who will see their local Star Store close.

We visit the Langley Star Store almost daily. The Feltons should be commended on giving both their customers and their staff almost five months notice before closing the Bayview store.

The amusing part of this article is where Gene Felton says he “looks forward to hearing from Bayview staff about what worked at the store, particularly their successful methods of cultivating customer relationships.”

If you’ve been to the Langley store, you will see Gene do everything from working in the office, running a cash register, bagging groceries or taking out the trash.

If more than two customers are in the checkout line, staff have been trained to immediately open another line.

Going to a wedding? Step to the front end of the store and after asking you two or three questions about the couple, Tamar will pick out the perfect gift. Her staff are all ready to do the same. You will leave the store with a beautifully wrapped gift in no time.

Cultivate customer relationships? The Feltons wrote the book on the subject.
