LETTER TO THE EDITOR | Focus on details, Record reporters

Editor, It became apparent to me soon after I started reading The Record 14 years ago that your staff need to invest in both a calculator and a map. (Please let Evan Thompson know that from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. is 12 hours, not 10. And, if people are turning from Coles Road onto the highway, they’ll be heading west, not north.)

Editor,

It became apparent to me soon after I started reading The Record 14 years ago that your staff need to invest in both a calculator and a map. (Please let Evan Thompson know that from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. is 12 hours, not 10. And, if people are turning from Coles Road onto the highway, they’ll be heading west, not north.)

However, now I see that you also need a dictionary. I do believe that Mr. Gordon was referring to “folks on the dissent side,” rather than the “descent side” of the port and fairgrounds issue.

If your reporters do not attend to details such as these, readers cannot have confidence that you get other details right in your reporting.

Thank you.
