Editor,

I am writing to solidify my position on the Langley mayoral elections.

I have known one candidate for 20 years and the other for just over one, and that knowledge of them, and their character has influenced my choice. I am endorsing Tim Callison for mayor.

I believe he is the most interested in the will of the community and doing what they wish. I said in my campaign that negativity and bitterness were not in the best interests of this community, and I stand by that statement.

Mr. Callison is an active community volunteer, and while he may not have lived here as long, I feel that makes him less beholden to special interests which seek to damage or destroy our wonderful community.

Either candidate would have a steep learning curve once in office, but I believe that Mr. Callison is the most likely to succeed at learning the law and trusting the findings and opinions of our professional staff members.

Mr. Callison represents the best of what Langley can attract to its community, and it is my hope that you will join me in voting for him as mayor.

THOMAS GILL
