LETTER TO THE EDITOR | Hearts, Hammers volunteers were awesome

Editor, Hearts & Hammers agreed to work on my home this past Saturday, May 7 and I was blown away at the well-oiled machine that descended. Jack Husband, the captain of my team and our “Fearless Leader,” was extraordinary. He kept me updated prior to the workday, sent people in to do preliminary work and was an all around pleasure to work with.

Editor,

Hearts & Hammers agreed to work on my home this past Saturday, May 7 and I was blown away at the well-oiled machine that descended. Jack Husband, the captain of my team and our “Fearless Leader,” was extraordinary. He kept me updated prior to the workday, sent people in to do preliminary work and was an all around pleasure to work with.

The team who worked on Saturday was no less efficient and highly motivated. Everyone was so kind, so ready to go above and beyond to make things “right” and all were concerned that I was happy with the results.

I have been fighting cancer for over a year and have been unable to keep up my home the way I would like. Hearts & Hammers has made it possible for me to be more comfortable and secure in my surroundings and more able to see the beauty around me. The wonderful, thoughtful men and women who worked so hard (and long) will be in my heart.

I again realize why I am so blessed and grateful to live on beautiful Whidbey Island. Saying “Thanks” just isn’t enough so I will just give “Thanks.”
