LETTER TO THE EDITOR | Hometown hero grateful, humbled by honor

Editor, I want to thank Susan Knickerbocker and Diana Putney, as well as all the other contributors, for the Hometown Hero article about me. This self examination and their exploration into my life was not easy for an old dude, like me. Hell, I took a female friend who holds a doctorate in psychology to coffee just to help me find enough self awareness to answer the questions from Susan.

Editor,

I want to thank Susan Knickerbocker and Diana Putney, as well as all the other contributors, for the Hometown Hero article about me.

This self examination and their exploration into my life was not easy for an old dude, like me. Hell, I took a female friend who holds a doctorate in psychology to coffee just to help me find enough self awareness to answer the questions from Susan.

Also, I was given too much credit for the Renaissance Event at the Greenbank Farm. We had a small, hard-working committee to help organize it. I just stood up at meetings and waved my arms a lot and put Post-it notes on the wall. Oh yeah, and that story they “beat” out of me about peeing on a police car, there is more to the story, so ask me when you see me on the street.

Most of all, I feel very privileged to be included in a group of previously recognized Hometown Heroes.

JERRY LLOYD
