Due to public outcry about the dysfunction of their Web site, the Navy has granted an unprecedented extension to the comment period on an environmental impact statement. This is for their planned increased Pacific Coast training use of “depleted” uranium munitions, underwater explosions and sonar.

Included is the Olympic National Marine Sanctuary. The comment period has been extended a week and extends through Feb. 18 at www.nwtrangecomplexeis.com/EIS.aspx.
