LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Mac’s unintended consequences

Array

To the editor:

One of the things politicians must be aware of is that their actions may have unintended consequences, particularly in the arena of rules/law. It appears they also need to be wary of the placement of their campaign signs.

Standing alone in the old Berg Ford car lot at Highway 20 and Pioneer Way is a great example, a Mac McDowell sign. It is impressive, consisting of three 4-by-8 foot signs that are attached to a professionally built frame of 2-by-4s, and is‚ “contractor grade” all the way. It stands there in a sea of asphalt.

That whole combination makes a not-so-subtle statement, and also fairly well summarizes what Mac has stood for during his too-long term of office: more development and more asphalt.
