Recent controversial statements made by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce organization, such as their denial of global warming, has led to a number of queries to the Langley Chamber of Commerce about a connection between the two organizations. There is no connection.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is a national organization of mostly big businesses. The Langley Chamber of Commerce is an independent local organization of Whidbey Island businesses. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Web site claims among its members some 200 local chambers of commerce (out of more than 7,000 chambers of commerce nationwide).

The Langley Chamber of Commerce is NOT a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The only thing the two organizations share is a similarity in name.
