LETTER TO THE EDITOR | Other agencies assisted Whidbey during crisis

Editor, On Sept. 10, a severe two-car accident occurred on Central Whidbey, causing a complete blockage of the road and access to our hospital in Coupeville. In addition to the critical injuries there, several of those waiting in line on the highway suffered their own medical emergencies and had to be transported to the mainland by the Mukilteo Fire Department paramedics. Whidbey General Hospital EMS would like to thank the Mukilteo Fire Department, Washington State Ferries, Airlift Northwest, and the fire departments across Whidbey Island for making it possible for us to treat all of our patients and get them to the medical care they needed.

Editor,

On Sept.

We will learn from this event, and we appreciate the support we’ve received from the many waiting whose schedules were adversely affected—in line on the highway, in the ferry lines, or on the docks.
