LETTER TO THE EDITOR | Slavery: Everyone did it, let’s move on

Editor, It was a pleasure to read the letter in the Wednesday Sept. 16 edition by Mary Goolsby. Her surname tells me that she and I may be cousins. In the matter of the Confederate flag, every major culture on this planet has practiced slavery from the beginning of recorded time to very recent times. Why should the Confederates take all the flack for it?

It was a pleasure to read the letter in the Wednesday Sept. 16 edition by Mary Goolsby. Her surname tells me that she and I may be cousins.

In the matter of the Confederate flag, every major culture on this planet has practiced slavery from the beginning of recorded time to very recent times. Why should the Confederates take all the flack for it?

Let’s just apologize on behalf of the whole human race and get on with life.
