Editor,

On behalf of the SWHS and LMS Jazz Bands, under the direction of Chris Harshman and Jess Monett, respectively, and the Performing Arts Boosters, we’d like to thank all the folks who attended our annual Sweetheart Big Band Dance fundraiser, Feb. 1.

We had our biggest crowd yet, from families and “sweethearts” to grandparents and babies. The venue was transformed into a sparkling, festive heart and music-themed space.

We would like to thank the following community businesses and friends for contributing to our evening. Thank you Joe’s Island Music, Music for the Eyes, Hong Kong Gardens, The Clyde Theater, Gina Simpson and family, Andrea Binder Yoga, Bill Halstead, 2nd Street Hair Boutique, The Star Store, Chocolate Flower Farm, Useless Bay Coffee Company, Jeff Greene and his students and the SWHS administration and support staff.

We raised the most money ever to help fund our Jazz Band program. Thank you all so much for making the evening so successful.
