LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Supporters helped us help many others

To the editor:

The Greenbank Garden Club would like to thank the community for its support of its fall plant sale held at the Greenbank Farm on Sept. 20.

The GGC uses the money earned from the sale to support various groups on the island, in particular Meerkerk Gardens, Greenbank Farm, Festival of Trees and the grounds of the Greenbank Progressive Club.

Not only did local gardeners enthusiastically appear to buy various plants but the following businesses donated items or gift certificates for the raffle and plant sale: Greenbank Cheese and Specialties, Ace Hardware, The Star Store, Flowers By the Bay, Skagit Farmers Supply, Meerkerk Garden, Kirk’s Nursery and Garden, Chocolate Flower Farm, The Beach Cabin, Bayview Farm & Garden, Linds, PayLess Foods, Mike’s Place, Gerry’s Kitchen, The Healthy Pet, Freeland Cafe, Prima Bistro, China City, Speedboat Family Dining, Whidbey Coffee Cafe, Gordon’s on Blueberry Hill, Horse Tales Nursery and Legacy Garden.

Thank you all for helping us succeed in our goals, and also for helping beautify our island gardens.
