LETTER TO THE EDITOR | Thanks for the 60th birthday bash

To the editor:

A very special thank you to all who donated to, attended, supported, and helped with the Island County Historical Society’s 60th Birthday Bash and Auction on July 25 at the farmers market. Your hard work and generosity helped raise nearly $8,000 that will help ICHS continue providing caring stewardship of our Island County history.

Extra-special thanks to Peg Tennant and the farmers market for letting us share their space, the Coupeville Lions for helping with set up/tear down of the WSU Extension tent, Whidbey Island Bank for being our highly-skilled cashiers, to Liz and Dale Sherman for a great auction, to our local media for helping get the word out, and to the Bodine family, Bodine Enterprises, Inc., who came as our special guests to be recognized and honored as stellar volunteers in the construction of our wonderful museum, some 20 years ago.

To all the nonprofit groups that joined our celebration, and to all the great volunteers that so many us of share, we hope this event will continue next year and beyond, and we thank you for all you do for our community, and look forward to working with all of you in future endeavors.

Even though we are all working through some challenging financial times, the generosity of our neighbors and our community has never faltered.

Many, many thanks!
