This letter is to encourage everyone to vote. And as you vote, I encourage you to vote for Helen price Johnson.

As our Island County commissioner these past eight years, she’s done so many outstanding things for our county. All of you in the community can see the good she’s done, but as her close friend I see things behind the scenes.

I see the empathy she has for all of us as I watch her struggle with the hard decisions she has to make.

I see how much she cares and feels for everyone in the community, and how much love she has for our island.

I see the hours and hours she spends researching, talking to people, traveling to Olympia and Washington D.C. to fight for us as a rural community.

I see her out there checking on slides, watersheds, tidelands and runoffs, and so many other areas of concern on our island that she spends time and energy learning about to help keep this island lovely.

I see her attending meetings, helping at functions, giving generously of her time and talent, deeply caring for each and every person and part of our island.

I see her go the extra mile and do things above and beyond the ordinary, always working for us.

She’s been out there in the trenches working hard for us for eight years now and I hope so much she’ll be out there continuing to do so after this election is over.

She’s pretty awesome!
